54. What if I need to go under concrete? - Top
As with any piping installation, you should avoid sidewalks, patios and driveways whenever possible. But, as with traditional watering systems, you can go under sidewalks by using a tunneling nozzle with your garden hose. Try taping the garden hose to a pole. This will make it easier to work the spray stream under the walkway.
To make a tunneling apparatus simply duct tape or secure a garden hose with a straight nozzle to a pole or pvc pipe. Then spray the stream of water under the walkway blasting away dirt as you go.
Use caution as too much tunneling could cause your walkway to sink, crack or collapse.
